The service

Skip tracing is the work of locating a person whose whereabouts are not known to you. Each locate follows a defined scope and a lawful method, agreed with you before work starts.

We require a lawful, legitimate purpose for every locate request and will not assist in locating a person where we reasonably believe it may facilitate harassment, intimidation or harm.

Lawful limits

What we will do, and what we will not.

  • We screen every locate request, and do not assist with tracing intended to harass, intimidate or harm.
  • We work under NSW Master Licence 000111255, within NSW privacy and surveillance law.
  • We don't confirm to a third party, including the person being located, that an engagement exists.
  • We tell you when something isn't lawful or achievable, rather than take the fee anyway.
  • We do not promise that a person will be found. We report what could be established.

Can you locate someone who doesn't want to be found?
Only for a lawful, legitimate purpose, such as recovering a debt, finding a witness or beneficiary, or serving legal documents. We will not assist in locating a person where we reasonably believe it may facilitate harassment, intimidation or harm, and we screen every locate request accordingly.
What information do you need to start a locate?
Enough detail for us to assess whether the locate is lawful and achievable: why you need to locate the person, how you are connected to them, and any relevant timeframes or locations. A first enquiry only needs an outline, without names or personal details of any individual. We collect those through secure channels once engaged.
How much does skip tracing cost?
It depends on scope, method and duration. We provide a clear fee estimate after the initial confidential consultation. There's no fixed public rate because every matter is different.
How long does it take to locate a person?
It varies with the circumstances, and some locates take longer than others. We'll give you a realistic estimate at the consultation stage.
