Private investigators serving the Central Coast

The Central Coast, from Wyong to Woy Woy.

Factual investigations, surveillance, incident investigations and aerial scene capture across the Central Coast local government area, for insurers, claims agents, self-insurers, employers and solicitors.

The Central Coast is a single local government area, formed in 2016 from the former Gosford City and Wyong Shire councils. Its main centres are Gosford, Wyong, The Entrance, Woy Woy, Terrigal, Erina, Umina Beach and Avoca Beach. Gosford is about 86 kilometres south of Newcastle, roughly an hour and twenty minutes by road. Travel times are approximate driving times from Newcastle.

Employment on the coast is concentrated in hospitals, other social assistance and aged care services, supermarkets and takeaway food (2021 Census). SIRA's public list of licensed self-insurers includes Central Coast employers; others are covered through the Nominal Insurer and its claims agents. We take referrals from both.

How we work here

Coast work, planned around the drive.

On the ground

  • Worker interviews are held at a place the worker nominates, with a support person or interpreter where requested. Employer and witness interviews are usually at the workplace.
  • Site inspections are arranged with the employer or occupier and recorded with measurements, photographs and video.
  • Reports record what was said, what was inspected and what the documents show, written knowing the worker may read them.
  • The coast is a return trip from Newcastle, so interviews, inspections and any surveillance are planned together where availability allows, and travel is agreed at referral.

The limits we keep

  • Surveillance is conducted only in or from public places, only of the worker named in the referral, and without inducement, entrapment or trespass.
  • Aerial capture documents sites and scenes with the occupier's consent and is not used to watch or follow people.
  • We offer no opinions on medical questions, capacity, liability or recovery. Those are matters for the insurer.

Common questions

The Central Coast, answered plainly.

Do you cover the whole Central Coast, or only Gosford?
The whole local government area, including Wyong, The Entrance, Terrigal, Woy Woy and Umina Beach. Gosford is about an hour and twenty minutes from Newcastle, and travel to any part of the coast is agreed at referral.
How is a Central Coast referral scheduled?
By appointment. We confirm the scope in writing, set interview dates to fit the written notice the insurer gives the worker, and group interviews and inspections into one trip where the parties' availability allows.
Which insurers' claims do you take on the Central Coast?
We work for insurers, claims agents, self-insurers, employers and solicitors, and we do not name clients. SIRA's public list of licensed self-insurers includes Central Coast employers, and we accept referrals from self-insurers and the Nominal Insurer's claims agents alike.
